Do Movers Disassemble and Reassemble Furniture?

One of the most common questions we get: will the movers take my bed apart, and will they put it back together at the new place? Short answer – yes. Here is exactly what that covers.

What disassembly includes

Standard furniture disassembly and reassembly is included in our hourly rate at no extra charge. That covers bed frames, dining and office tables, mirrors mounted on dressers, and most shelving that has to come apart to travel safely. The crew brings the tools, keeps the hardware in labeled bags taped to the furniture, and rebuilds each piece where you want it in the new home.

What takes extra planning

Some items need a heads-up when you book so we can plan crew size and equipment: pianos, safes, exercise machines, oversized wardrobes and anything that must be hoisted rather than carried. Mention them when you request a quote – surprises on moving day cost time, and time is what you pay for.

What movers will not reassemble

Industry-wide, movers avoid reassembling items where a mistake creates a safety risk they cannot verify: cribs beyond manufacturer guidelines, wall-mounted furniture and TV mounts (mounting into your wall is a handyman job), and gas-connected appliances. We will move them carefully – the reconnection just belongs to the right specialist.

How to make it faster

Empty every piece before the crew arrives – drawers, wardrobes, desk cabinets. Furniture moves dramatically faster empty, and it is the single biggest time-saver available to you. If you know a piece was assembled inside the room and will not fit through the door whole, tell us in advance.
